Fred Momotenko was born in 1970 in a family of professional musicians. He started his musical carrier as xylophone player at a young age and later he went to study at Moscow State University of Culture and Arts and at the Brabants Conservatory the Netherlands as a percussionist and mallet performer. At the same time started to write music for his own applications.

After graduating from the Fontys Conservatory as a musician, he continues his study as composer under the guidance of professor M Sc Willem Jeths and professor M Sc Maino Remmers in the Netherlands. As well F. Momotenko took more lessons and seminars from the professors-composers Roderik de Man, Bob Becker, Vinko Globokar.

In 2002 he won the first price of the VSB Fund Composition Concourse, de Rode Hoed Amsterdam with the composition “Drinklied” for voice and vibraphone. For this piece the composer took the original poem from the Dutch writer and poet Gerrit Krol. Furthermore Fred has for number of years the individual composition sessions with the composer Alexander Hrisanide, the composer Roderik de Man and the composer and the art historian M Sc Hans Koch.

In April of the year 2003 the composer and musician F. Momotenko was Invited to participate “The Composers Symposium” at the “Noord Einde” in Den Hague, the Palace of Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. Mrs. Momotenko was personally received ao by the composer Steve Reich and the Queen Beatrix as the guest of the honour.
